For staining it is manual dipped in a VEGETABLE colour, manual finishing by the usage of small brushes and as final step, drying at the open air. This process takes as a result called TUFFATO, which many companies do not spend more because it requires a work of extreme precision that slows down production time.

Really nice sandals
I am happy I took a chance with these. The style is really nice and the leather was quite soft and comfortable from the start and I have had no issues with blisters like I usually do with new shoes. They did stain my feet a bit the first few wears but not that big a deal. My only wish is that the rubber soles are a bit more grippy.

easy summer sandal
I have pretty much given up wearing heels in the summer so I like a variety of summer flats/sandals. There is a store in Vancouver that stocks Gianluca sandals and they sell out every shipment. I find these sandals don't really need time to be "broken in" but are immediately wearable for long periods of time. They add that relaxed but stylishly bohemian look that I am after for my outfits.

I love them. Appear to be well made. Actually brought me back to my childhood sandals.:-) Very comfortable from the moment I put them on. I ordered the leather sole as I wanted to be able to ground to the earth which is not possible with plastic or non-natural material. Barefoot is best but not when on the job!!
I am in love with these sandals. I bought my first pair of Gianluca sandals in Florence in 2008, and I am a loyal customer. There is nothing like a handmade sandal with a natural leather footbed.
